Question regarding add-ins support on Mobile platforms

I'm excited to participate in this hackathon. I've few questions below.

For this hackathon, the requirement is to develop a new add-in and integrate Office APIs. I'm confused as too what should be submitted? Under rules, it is mentioned submission could be Android .apk. As per this link https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/jj220060.aspx, Add-ins are web apps working inside Office desktop and web clients. Are add-ins supported on Android? Can you point me to a tutorial or sample code for android supported add-in? I found this blog post back from May 2015.https://blogs.office.com/2015/04/29/today-at-build-new-possibilities-for-the-office-platform.

    Hi Swaroop,

Thanks so much for your patience and your question.

Please note that per today’s update (http://msoffice365.devpost.com/updates/4677-rules-requirement-change-hint-it-s-easier-now) the requirements have been updated so that you can either build an Add-in or integrate an API.

At this point, building an add-in for the Android Office applications, is not possible. However you can still participate by building an Android application that integrates one or more of the Office 365 APIs (Mail, Calendar, Files, Photos/Video, Contacts, or Graph).

I hope that clears things up. Please let me know if you have more questions!
